It was wonderful for me to have the opportunity to photograph someone who totally ‘gets-it’ when it comes to profile pictures, and to see how Licia is making use of those head shots in her own online strategy. Find out more about what Licia does…
I work closely with established and emerging leaders to champion their passion, purpose & authentic position.
Who’s your target market?
35- 55 professional women
What problem of theirs do you solve?
Fear: that a career they love is not possible; primarily, although I have heard many women describe their fear as their circumstances, their guilt, their location or even their children, when underlying all those secondary reasons is the primary fear that we do not deserve a better career, or that we cannot achieve a career we love or that our career passion is just impossible: when we experience fear we stop and we become immobilized in a thought pattern that keeps us stuck. Breaking this takes action, energy and heart and belief – and buying into the power of possibility!!
What makes your product/service/business different?
A career strategist is the term I came up with to describe the work that I figured out I love to do- I help women identify their passion, isolate their purpose and connect them to their next position through a specifically guided 12-week process where we apply the career startegy formula. This role did not exist in SA at the time and I spent a lot of my time explaining what I did. it was important to me to distinguish between career coaching – which I value and honour however a career strategy is more nuts and bolts, more real and walks side by side with the client in everyday situations and strategies to see immediate and measurable action in their careers.
Why do you do what you do?
Because as Simon Sinek says- Having a career we love is a right not a privilege,
What has been your biggest challenge as a business owner & how did you overcome it?
Work life balance- It’s a constant learning curve and some days everything works and some days not- I believe that the real gem though is to accept that the act of balance is to actually to be out of balance – once we embrace this thought life is much easier.
What advice would you give other business women, either starting out or already in business?
um……. invest in SEO at the get go i think ….
What would you do differently if you could start your business again?
Invest in a strong brand image headshot before anything else!
What’s next for you and your business? What’s your big dream/goal?
Create a career strategy online school to help a broader segment of the SA population
Why did you need a photo shoot?
For my website
What was your expectation for the photo shoot?
That they would be superb and they were.
