Michelle contacted me late last year asking to set up this shoot for her family in Kalk Bay at the beginning of January. She was very specific about the date and the location. The reason being, that her parents and brother live overseas and were here in Cape Town for the summer holidays, returning to the cold northern hemisphere mere days after the shoot. The location was special because Michelle’s dad misses his snoek!!

When I got all the information about the family from the questionnaire I send my my new clients, I knew we were in for a jovial shoot! Michelle explained that some of the questions had the family in stitches, before we’d even met!!

I loved the energy this close-knit group brought with them. They were up for anything, come rain or wind! They even humoured my train chasing obsession to the THAT shot!

Putting this slideshow together got me thinking about how important it is to have these tangible memories, especially when you have family so far away.

In her response to the slideshow, Michelle wrote “The preview is 3:38min of lump-in-the-throat moments and words cannot express our gratitude.”  I still get goosebumps, as I write this.

“The preview is 3:38min of lump-in-the-throat moments and words cannot express our gratitude.”
