When a client comes back again, and again, I know I must be doing something right!
Karlene is one of those clients, and to be frank, not only is she an ideal client, I consider her a friend. If she lived in Cape Town, I know that we could easily share some laughs over a glass or two of wine. Unfortunately for me, and fortunately for her, Karlene lives in the Seychelles with her husband and now new-born baby.
I first met Karlene when she was visiting Cape Town to plan her wedding, which I landed up photographing for them at Langkloof Roses. I then met Wicus for the first time when I photographed their engagement shoot at Vergelegen.
Working with Karlene and Wicus was a pivotal moment in my career. That’s when I decided to get clear about WHO I enjoyed working with. And those kinds of clients are the ones who I can see myself being friends with.
I’ve stayed in touch with Karlene via social media over the last few years and was so excited to see her again when she contacted me to photograph her very pregnant belly in a maternity shoot during her short return to Cape Town.
I’m sad to see her return to her island life, but at the same time so thrilled that not only does she have beautiful images to remember her transition into motherhood, but she returns to the Seychelles today, with a very warm and cuddly item of hand luggage.
All my love to you, Karlene and Wicus, as you embark on this next amazing chapter!
