My Mother/Daughter Shoot

,

Yesterday was my mom’s birthday and I was lucky enough to be there with her to celebrate. One of my gifts to her was doing a shoot for her in the studio. She had wanted to wear her mother’s (my grandmother’s) wedding dress, so Kristine styled the hair and makeup on the 1940’s era, where it originated. I’d wanted to have some pics of us done together as well, so I brought along my own wedding dress for one of the shots.

Then we each chose an evening dress from Molteno Creations and did a darker, evening-wear look.

And yes I took the photos of the two of us myself. I set up the camera on a tripod and then with a remote trigger snapped our pic. The trick is to compose the shot with one person in shot, allowing for the other person in the frame. It took a few shots, but we got there eventually.

They’ve made such special memories for me and my mom and I’m thrilled to have the images as keepsakes.  Abigail K Photography 1 Abigail K Photography 2 Abigail K Photography 3 Abigail K Photography 4 Abigail K Photography 5 Abigail K Photography 6 Abigail K Photography 7 Abigail K Photography 8 Abigail K Photography 9
