Lately I’ve been on a journey of self-improvement. This is an ongoing and never-ending journey because, as you know, there’s always work to be done. And the only place where self-improvement can happen is outside of your comfort zone.
Stepping Outside of My Comfort Zone
So I’m pushing myself to either create opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone, or I’m saying yes to opportunities that come my way that are stretching the boundaries of said comfort zone.
I’ve always enjoyed a bit of public speaking, since high school where I earned my colours in Drama and also when I was appointed as Deputy Head Girl. Yes, I was one of those kids at school!!
But it was always a double edged sword. I enjoyed being up there on stage while at the same time I was always more than a little scared of being there. I guess it was a little bit of a sadistic enjoyment of the blend of pain and pleasure.
In business, I find myself doing things that give me both pain and pleasure on a regular basis, like writing my blog posts, creating and uploading videos, creating my fine art work and doing photo shoots that challenge my creativity and usual routine. Now I’m adding another comfort zone challenger – presenting talks!
Over the years I’ve presented a number of talks and workshops but until now, I haven’t actively sought out these kinds of opportunities.
Presenting my “Begin Your Own Confidence Crusade” Talk
So I’m thrilled to kick off this new challenge with my “Begin Your Own Confidence Crusade” talk at the Xtraordinary Women Network in Somerset West on 4th August.
Please be sure to book your spot – not only will you get to hear my talk but you’ll have the opportunity to network with a great group of women who all run or represent businesses that could be looking for the products or services you offer.
I look forward to seeing you there!
